- Real-life situations and personal experiences

- Manga (mostly slice-of-life)

- Poetry

- Religion and the humanities

- My childhood favorites, such as,: Charlotte’s Web; Because of Winn-Dixie; The Magic Tree-House, and so forth.

Concerning how detailed I am with world-building, I was inspired by novels such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter; what gave me the courage to write my largest and longest series was Expired Empires was Vampire Knight.
